If you’ve ever thought about applying false eyelashes you may have stopped before actually following through with it because you weren’t quite comfortable doing so in a safe way. False eyelashes are definitely intimidating, especially if you’re new to the false eyelash world. But with Halloween just around the corner, we knew you were starting to think about trying some falsies for the occasion. There are a few things to consider when it comes to safely applying false eyelashes and if you’re going to apply them, it’s important to be aware of how to do so properly so you don’t have to deal with any problems when removing them.
Make Sure You’re Prepared
When it comes to applying false eyelashes you’re going to need to make sure that you’re fully prepared for the process before you actually start. You’re going to need a few key things in order to safely apply your false lashes. Obviously, you’ll need the chosen false eyelashes you want to apply. In addition to the false lashes you’re going to need a pair of scissors, eyelash glue, tweezers, an eyelash curler and mascara. Before you actually get started, make sure you have everything, and lay all of the tools out so you can easily reach them once you begin the process of actually applying them to yourself.
Trim The Lashes
Ok, so you’re obviously going to need to remove the false lashes from the container, when doing so make sure you remove them GENTLY. If you remove them too quickly or harshly you can actually make them lose their natural shape that they were given. In addition, do a little curving/bending to them once you remove them from their contain to just get their flexibility going a bit. Once you’ve done all that hold the false eyelash strip up to your eyes, as if you’re applying them to see how the length is in proportion to your eye shape. Make a note as to where you need to trim and trim accordingly. Repeat this on the second eyelash strip before moving on.
Get The Glue
Now that you’ve measured and trimmed your eyelashes it’s time to actually get started on the application process. Apply a small amount of glue to the back of your hand. Once you have some of the glue on your hand allow it to get a bit tacky/stick and then run the base of the lashes through the glue. Make sure that you have an even application of glue to the base of the lashes. Once the glue is a bit tacky, but not dry you’re going to need to start applying to your lash line. Start at the outer corner by placing the lashes and gently apply them working your way to the inner corner.
Straighten The Lashes
Once you’ve actually placed the false lashes to the lash line, you’re probably going to need to do a bit of adjusting. Using your tweezers you can situate and move the lashes until they feel ok on your lash line and are lined up perfectly. Of course, with the non open end of your tweezers apply light pressure to the base of the lashes to secure them and really hold them down.
Once you’ve done all that you’re able to apply mascara and voila!
