Gemini Makeup Look Tutorial

This week, our focus is and has been on the Gemini woman and all of the things that comprise her style, edginess, and personality. Today, we brought Beauty Blogger Sarah McCormick on board to give you an easy to do Gemini makeup look and style that’s different from the typical yellow Gemini eyeshadow style, and fill you in on all the details about how you can get the look for yourself in a handy step-by-step tutorial, complete with pictures and step by step instructions.

The Gemini Makeup Finished Look.

Hi everyone and thanks for joining me for yet another fabulous Lionesse beauty look tutorial. I am always excited to make these for you guys, and hope that you love them just as much as I do!

Today, I will be demonstrating a simple Gemini look that you can achieve with minimal products. As you can see in the pictures, I began my look with my foundation and the core basics on my eyes already completed. You don’t need to use liquid liner or faux lashes like I did if you don’t want to, I did it because I love the look and it’s my typical every day makeup base. Winged eyeliner styles are my favorite – and I adore faux lashes.

Okay, now to get started. You will need the following items to get the look:

  • Lionesse SH-17 Pigment Shimmer (eye shadow pigment)

  • Revlon Black Eye shadow

  • Brush for application, and a brush for blending
  • Mascara
  • Eyeliner
  • Revlon ‘Jennifer’s Nude’ lip color – any nude shade that suits your skin tone will do
  • Foundation of your choice – not necessary but it will give you even coverage – I used Fit Me! Dewy and Smooth for Normal to Dry Skin by Maybelline
  • Bronzing powder if you want to contour your cheekbones
  • Pink blush – I used Sephora’s brand

Here’s what you need to do to get the look:

Step 1 - Apply foundation, blend well.

Contour cheekbones with bronzing powder

Step 2 – Contour cheekbones with bronzing powder or skip this if you aren’t into bronzer. I love the accent and definition it provides!

Step 3 – Apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks lightly. You don’t want to overdo it, you want the focus to be on your eyes and lips as is customary to Gemini makeup.

Step 4 – Apply mascara and eyeliner in whatever fashion you like – I used a winged liner because I love the look. Simply apply the liner and when you reach the outer corner of the eye, bring your brush up at a quick angle and work the liner in to make the line as thick as you would like. This may require some practice before completing your look.

Step 5 – Apply the Lionesse SH-17 pigment lightly to the eyelid. You can use an eyeshadow primer as I usually do, but this time I did not and the color held fabulously all day long. Then again, most Lionesse Shimmers always do!

Step 6 – Using a blending brush, drag some of the black eyeshadow across the eyelid close to the lash line. We are going to blend this out to create a smokey eye. When finished, complete the same on the bottom lash line, meeting the winged line in the corner with darker shadow and blending lighter away from the corner of the eye.

Step 7 – Make sure your black is blended out well. You can use a liner brush for the bottom lash line if you like, and then go back in with a blending brush to pull the color out and away to give it a smokey effect. I suggest not following the entire lash line and stopping at about ¾ of the way into the inner corner of the eye for a more dramatic effect.

Step 8 - Once your eyes are complete, apply your nude lipstick. Now, you can apply a primer to the lips or even concealer to hold the color longer – however, I did not this time. My color held for a couple of hours on its own without any help.

Step 9 - Spray on a finishing mist and let it dry to set the style.

The Gemini Makeup Look - Finished Look.

You’re finished! It’s as simple as that. Though there may be many steps, as you can see this Gemini style is subtle and pretty natural looking except for the eyes. It’s a great look to wear during the day as it’s not too over the top, but it would also work really well for night time.

I hope you have all enjoyed this look as much as I had fun putting it together for you all! Have fun! Stay tuned soon for more makeup and hair look tutorials coming your way from me. Have a great day!
