Once the leaves start to turn, when pumpkin spice is the only rational flavor, and boots, leg warmers and quarter-zips become the staples of your wardrobe, then fall has arrived. The colorful leaves, PSL’s and warm wardrobe essentials are pretty much as given at this point, but perhaps you’ve found yourself wondering what lip color is “in” this season. If so, you’re at the right place! Below you will find a list of all the of all the fabulous lip colors that are “in” this fall season.
However, before we discuss these awesome autumn shades, there is one minor subject that we will address; that is chapped, cracked, and dry lips. Many women find that they need to up their lip TLC in the fall and winter season due to the cool weather and harsh whipping winds. Then again, you don’t have to step up your lip care, but if you don’t, it’s very unlikely that your lipstick will go on smooth and last at least a few hours. Since you’re probably convinced that upping your lip care game is the way to go, here are a handful of tips that you can use throughout the fall – or even throughout the year – to keep your lips from becoming chapped and cracked. You’re welcome.
- Hydrate; yes, really. Dehydration is the number one cause of dry skin and chapped lips. Make it a goal to drink at least eight 8 oz glasses of water each day. Cheers.
- Heal and protect. It seems obvious, but loading your pout when you’re not wearing lipstick makes a huge difference. Healing emollients work by sealing in moisture and building a protective barrier from cold weather and harsh winds.
- Exfoliate often. It will wipe off any dead skin that’s preventing your lips from looking their best. Don’t forget to apply a moisturizing lip balm immediately after!
Now, without further ado, here are the hottest lip colors this fall.
Pale Brink Pink
This lip color is similar to the ever popular salmon hue that was all the rage this summer, although it is just a bit lighter than a salmon hue. One of the best things about this color is it’s a total multi-tasker! Depending on the versatility of the product you choose, this color can be used as a daytime lip color and makes a natural cheek tint as well.
White Gold, aka Metallic Tan
It may seem like this color is one for the summer season, but it is seasonably sassy with its foliage like hue! We’re not suggesting that you paint your lips to look like liquid gold, rather you should grab a hi-shine lip gloss that is glided with loads of gold glitter.
Seductive and Spiced
The 90’s trend of brownish-pink lip color has made its way back into the hearts of beauty gurus this fall season. What’s great about this color is it’s soft enough to give a feminine touch, but it’s bold enough that it could be the official color of a girl power campaign.
